Alma Council to introduce ordinance pertaining to landlords, unpaid utilities
Board of Aldermen of the City of Alma met in regular session at Alma City Hall on March 10, 2026 beginning at 6 p.m.

Coffee with Commissioners
Over the past month, Lafayette County Commissioners have been travelling around the county to visit with residents in a series of meetings called “Coffee with the Commission.” On Tuesday, March 3, they visited The Gas Spot in Alma and met with approximately 30 guests. More than $12.7 million in prizes of $1,000 or more won in February
During the month of February, Missouri Lottery offices paid out more than $12.7 million in prizes of $1,000 or more.
Santa Fe R-X Board discusses MO Legislation, future of rural public education
Mrs. Martha Schreiman and members of her FFA officer team were present at the March 10, 2026 school board meeting to provide a meal, show gratitude and share highlights of their year. Following the meal, district administration shared their appreciation as well during the opening of the formal meeting. Present school board members for the Santa Fe R-X school district are: Russell Limback- President, Jennifer Hostetter- Vice President, Darren Wodrich-Secretary, Justin Schuster- Treasurer, Darrin Lilleman- Member, Tim Dierking- Member and Clay Michael- Member. “This district has been blessed with exemplary board operations and genuinely great people during my entire tenure, and prior to that and the Santa Fe school community is in debt for your selfless service to the kids, school and greater community,” shared Mr. Lark.

Shepherd’s Food Pantry February update
For the month of February, the Shepherd’s Food Pantry served 350 families from the Tri-County region of Lafayette, Carroll and Saline Counties. This was 1,169 precious people: 527 adults, 362 children, 279 seniors.

Governor signs FY 2026 supplemental budget bill
On March 11, Governor Mike Kehoe signed the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 supplemental budget bill, HB 2014, that was passed by the General Assembly last week. The bill allows for current operations of state government to continue through FY 2026.
