Retired educators to meet March 12
Lafayette County Retired School Personnel (LCRSP) will meet Thursday, March 12 at 2:30 P.M. at the FCS Financial office, 4100 MO-13 Highway, Higginsville.
Hall of Fame induction
The Lexington Hall of Fame for Career Achievement held its annual induction ceremony on Saturday at Lexington High School. Pictured above are the inductees. From left are Brandon Scott, Brett Brooks, Michael Lichte, Mick Luerhman (son of Richard Luehrman), Kathryn Mussatto Bishburg, Judy Gover Lindquist (presenting and accepting for Ernestine Seiter), Monica Soendker, and Carol and Everett Hannon, presenting and accepting for Floyd Boldridge.
Beck inducted into the Coach’s Hall of Fame
Longtime Lexington Coach Tom Beck was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame on February 1, which is a very prestigious honor. Tom coached track, football and wrestling each year at Lexington High School for a total of 30 years, and during that time he was an instrumental part of a total of 9 State Championship teams in those three sports combined, along with numerous Conference and District Championship teams. Tom was also the leader of the weightlifting program at Lexington high School, which played a key role in the physical development of many of the school’s athletes. I interviewed Coach Beck recently, and following are his answers to the questions that I asked him .

Academic Week
Lexington High School held its annual Academic Week last week r ecognizing students who have had at least three semesters of high school and maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.66 or higher. Above, students were treated to a visit to Lambert’s, home of the “throwed rolls.” More photos from the week are on page 2.

Lexington’s 30th Saint Patrick’s Day Parade will step off at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 14 in downtown Lexington.
Judge denies county’s motion to intervene in classification suit
A judge hearing the Saline County Assessor’s lawsuit against the Saline County Commission ruled last week against Lafayette County’s request to intervene, a published report stated.
