December 26, 1953-February 26, 2026 Linda Gash Todsen, a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of God, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on February 26, 2026, at the age of 72, following heart failure. From Higginsville, Missouri, Linda carried her Heartland roots throughout her life.

Lawrence A. “Buck” Johnson

December 30, 1936-March 11, 2026 Lawrence A. “Buck” Johnson, 89, of Higginsville, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Meyer Care Center. He was born Wednesday, December 30, 1936, in Higginsville to August Johnson and Goldie (Whittmeyer) Johnson. As a child, Buck attended a small rural schoolhouse on Jennings Road in Higginsville. He left school early to join the United States Air Force and later earned his GED while enlisted. Buck proudly served his country from 1955 to 1959.

Dr. Brad Briscoe Discusses Four Day School Week and Legislative Concerns

Lafayette County Retired School Personnel (LCRSP) met on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 2:30 P.M., at the FCS Office in Higginsville, MO. A general meeting was held with Dr. Brad Briscoe, Superintendent of the Wellington-Napoleon School District, as the guest speaker. Reports on Missouri Retired Teachers and Education Employees Association’s (MRTA) first-ever combined Legislative Day and Leadership Summit were also given.
