Local counties facing reclassification
News Editor Lafayette County Commissioners are beginning preliminary work and getting questions answered from the State Auditor’s office as they prepare to navigate the changes of being reclassified as a third-class county, Southern Commissioner Michael Brown remarked in a recent Facebook post.

Many athletes introduced at Meet the Minutemen
A large crowd was on hand as the annual Spring edition of Meet the Minutemen was held a week ago Tuesday at Lexington High School. A large number of athletes from both Lexington High School and Middle School were introduced, and are participating in numerous Sports this Spring at one of the schools. Following is a rundown of the teams that were introduced last Tuesday, as well as the number of athletes that are currently members of each team: The Powerlifting team is coached by Ben Friedrich and assistant coach is April Archibeque. There are 24 athletes on this team consisting of one senior, 2 juniors, 6 freshmen, 5 eighth graders and 10 seventh grade students.
