Fred Allen Droege
July 5, 1938-February 5, 2026 Fred Allen Droege, 87, of Concordia, MO, died Thursday, February 5,2026, at his home. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia with Dr. Alan Gatewood officiating. Inurnment with military rites will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Concordia Ambulance District or Bethel United Church of Christ Festival of Sharing. An online guestbook can be signed at www.campbell-lewis.com Born July 5, 1938, in Concordia, he was the son of the late Fred H. Droege and Olga (Duensing) Droege. Fred was a United States Navy veteran and served as a communications specialist. On February 20, 1960, at Bethel United Church of Christ, he married Virginia Mae Kindle who survives of the home. Fred’s career was spent as a communications analyst with AT&T, working for 35 years before his retirement. Fred was an active member of Bethel United Church of Christ where he was an authorized lay minister and sang in the church choir. He was a member of American Legion Post 258, Concordia Lions Club, and served on the Board of Directors at the Good Shepherd Home. Fred volunteered with Habitat For Humanity and the Sweet Springs Food Bank. He enjoyed having a winery, loved making wine and selling his grapes to Baltimore Bend Winery. Fred was an avid reader, enjoyed hunting, fishing and working in his yard.

Norris Waller
May 11, 1937-February 8, 2026 Norris was born in Humphrey, Missouri, to Luther and Elgeva (Mc Calley) Waller on May 11, 1937. He lived his life in Humphrey and graduated from Trenton High School in 1955. He attended Trenton Junior College and there he met the love of his life, Fran Warren. Norris and Fran were married on a hot June 5, 1958, at the Edinburg Baptist Church. Their honeymoon was a trip returning to Denver to stay and work. They decided to return to Kansas City where Norris worked while Fran finished her college degree.


WMMC Auxiliary Accepting Applications for Healthcare Scholarships
Warrensburg, MO (January 29, 2026) — The Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) Auxiliary is nowaccepting applications for healthcare career scholarships. Scholarships are available to Johnson County residents or students attending the University of Central Missouri, State Fair Community College, or the University of Missouri– Kansas City who are pursuing a career in healthcare.

Lady Husker Grapplers Send Four to State
On Friday and Saturday the Lady Huskers mad the long drive down 65 highway to Buffalo, Missouri the site of Class One District 3 Wrestling competition.

MRVCE Conference Crown Clinched by The Huskers
The Huskers enjoyed success on the hardwood last week at home in a three game stint. First up on 2-9 was a second meeting with KC Hogan Prep Academy. The teams met earlier in December at the Husker Classic with the Huskers winning that one by a lopsided count of 75-20 over the Rams. The Blue and Gold would cruise to victory again in this contest posting a turbo clock victory of 63-31. Seniors Brock Page and Kadin Aversman led the Husker offense each with a baker’s dozen, and Freshman Parson Stoner had 12. Full Scoring: Fisher 8, Todd 6, C. Aversman 5, Stoner 12, Johnson 2, K. Aversman 13, Page 13, Burns 4. Wells had 11 for HPA to lead the Rams.
